Ambitious For Excellence In All We Do: Beacon Academy

At Beacon Academy we all seek to inspire and believe in one another to achieve our ambitions and succeed in life. As a non-selective, non-denominational, non-fee-paying, mixed 11 - 18 school, we are immensely proud of the consistently outstanding results achieved by our students.

These exceptional outcomes currently place our school at the top of the Department for Education’s national league tables* for East Sussex under the Government’s main performance measure, Progress 8. We are in an esteemed group of 7% of schools nationally who are now categorised as ‘well above average’ for two years in a row.

However, education at Beacon Academy is about much more than academic achievement. We take pride in supporting and encouraging our students to broaden their horizons, develop their interpersonal skills and become independent learners via not only our curriculum, but our day-to-day support networks and excellent enrichment programme.

Our commitment to promoting the welfare of every student permeates the entire school. Students are supported through all aspects of their school life by a professional, caring and exceptionally effective team, meaning they are secure in the knowledge that there is always someone there for them. Our structured transition programme is in place to ensure a smooth and positive start to life at secondary school and further education or employment.

Ms Anna Robinson, Headteacher, says, “Our vision is to provide the best possible education for all of our students within the framework of our broad, knowledge rich curriculum and coherently planned personal development and enrichment programme. In doing so, we want to empower all students at Beacon Academy to be happy and successful in life, whether in education, employment or training, to stand shoulder to shoulder with their contemporaries, whether locally, nationally or globally in whatever area they choose to pursue.”

We encourage you to visit and see this for yourselves. We invite you to see what we can offer your child to ensure that they make the best progress possible, within our supportive, challenging and stimulating environment.
