Living With PTSD. Spotlight on: Hannah Rainey. Little Thoughts.

When did you start the blog and why? 

I started Little Thoughts in 2015. It was purely a hobby and still is – I was looking for something that would provide me with a bit of a creative outlet and my friend suggested that a blog might be a good idea. I was struggling with Post-Traumatic-Stress-Disorder (undiagnosed at that time) and I found that writing about my mental health experiences was not only something that helped to put the purpose back into my day-to-day life but also something that could be potentially be helpful to others. I never intended for it to be a mental health blog, I just wrote about what was going on for me at the time.

Can you tell us a bit more about the book?

The book is a memoir about life with Complex Post-Traumatic-Stress Disorder (CPTSD) and basically documents my mental health experiences from initial trauma aged 4, up to how I live life now at 23. It covers childhood trauma, symptoms, experiences, medication, therapy (two types) and recovery.

I hope that the book can provide a little hope for others and just really show people that there is always some way to help a situation – even when it doesn’t feel that way at all.
